Based in Beijing with operations throughout China we design and execute our own tours of high standard. Part of maintaining a high standard is our No Shopping Policy. This means we will not take you to markets specially designed to sell goods to foreigners at fixed high prices. Most travel agencies do this because they get a commission, but will not mention these stops until you actually are on tour. If you do want to shop we can take you to non-commission markets where you can bargain and find many treasures. The China Guide has a mixture of western and Chinese staff who handle various aspects of your tour to assure everything is up to western standards. All our guides, drivers and vehicles are certified for tourism and fully insured. We specialize in custom private tours for small groups, families, business travellers and student groups. We also run group tours to Sleep on the Great Wall. We also handle discount tickets to shows, including Acrobats, Kungfu and Peking Opera. We can organize your travels by plane or train, and recommend good hotels for you. The China Guide gives travelers their own private tour, with quality and flexibility not found in standard Chinese group tours. Combining budget with quality service and experience, we consider your trip our own and give you the type of service we would want ourselves. Whether you are a group, family with children or a business traveller we customize the experience to best suit your schedule and expectations. The China Guide is managed by Peter Danford, an American who is based in Beijing with his wife and 3 children. The two older children, age 7 and 5 attend Chinese school. We are experts at travel with children in China. |
