Written on Tripadvisor.com: I recently returned from a 6 day stay in Beijing with my family. As it was out first trip to the city, we arranged for private tours through The China Guide (thechinaguide.com) I'm happy to report that it was a tremendous expereince, once which I can enthusiastically recommend. We had a guide for four days, saw far more than we ever would have otherwise and, best of all, we could customize the schedule to our family's interests and likings. The guide was knowlegable and easy to understand. Everyone was completely flexible with the schedule which was especially great traveling with 2 kids. While the price may seem steep at first glance, once you've accounted for the efficiency, comfort and convenience, it was substantially more than worth every penny. I hope this information proves useful on your next visit to China. Actually, I didn't even find The China Guide until less than 4 weeks before we left. they were incredibly responsive even making some fairly significant last-minute adjustments. Additionally, we changed things around once we got underway based on our interests, fatigue, traffic, etc. I'd reach out to them and see what they say. They were very responsive to my initial inquiry and remained so throughout our stay. Good luck. Travel safe.
I just wanted to write a short thank you email. My boyfriend and I did the sleep on the great wall on the 15th July for 3 days and we had such a great time! Our guide was great and the whole experience was fantastic. The weather was a bit so so but it didn't really matter, we still had a great time. The dinner at Jinshanling village was also fantastic and everyone so nice and happy. Again thanks you! I will have no problem recommending this tour to friends and clients.
The trip was first rate. We enjoyed every minute of it. I knew that sleeping on the wall would be special but I did not expect it to be such an awesome experience. Even my 12 and 14 year old were in awe. We especially enjoyed the hike. Thanks for all your arrangements.
Clearly,the most memorable part of my multi-country adventure was sleeping for two night's on the Great Wall. Your people were outstanding. Transportation, accommodation, meals and your guide all exceeded expectations. In my opinion, it's one of the best value for money excursions you could partake in China. The trip was wonderful. Jason was the best, most friendly and talkative guide we had in china. Our experience was one of a kind. Lastly I felt it was so great that I proposed to my now fiance as the sun was setting over the wall. Thanks for everything and please give Jason and the family at the wall our best regards.
Oh my goodness, we had the most brilliant time ever!! it was truly one of the most amazing experiences we all had and we all loved every minute of it! the family just kept feeding us, and their hospitality was fantastic. take care, and maybe i'll return there one day!!
We've arrived back home and are trying to recover from the trip! I especially wanted to tell you how terrific everything was with our tour. All the details were expertly planned and timed and, as a result, we covered far more ground than would ever had been possible on our own. Our driver was first-rate, expertly weaving through the maze of traffic and wisely taking back roads when necessary. Kelly was simply magnificent. She's a lovely, intelligent, informative and sensitive young woman who really added so much to our Beijing experience. It was especially sweet and wonderful that she immediately bonded with our 10 year-old daughter and made her feel welcome and safe. Our visits to some of China's great tourist attractions was made all the more special because of Kelly's insights. Many, many thanks.
I wanted to write to thank you for being the organiser of such a wonderful trip. Friends accounts of their trip to the Great Wall couldn't be more different from mine and I really feel as though I have had an absolutely unique experience. Janshanling was perfectly located and the villagers couldn't have been more friendly; we enjoyed a great meal and drinks and had a lovely first few hours on the wall on Saturday afternoon. The watchtower itself was excellent and sleeping outside overlooking the wall was amazing. The group were lovely and we all got on very well; we can even say we had a great game of poker on the wall! Getting up at 4am is not something I was relishing but there is no way I could sleep through the daybreak on the wall and the changing colour of our surroundings, it was really picturesque. We set off on our hike at 5am and only passed one other person in the first few hours, meaning we could savour the peacefulness and views to ourselves. I really want to tell everyone about the venture but also want to keep it to myself!
The Great Wall Trip was great! Your web site does not do it justice. I had a great time and Brenda [guide] was super nice. If you ever need a reference for the trip, feel free to give out my email address. I would recomend this trip to anyone.
Vicki was the perfect guide for us. She was so relaxed and fun-loving; we felt instantly at ease with her (and her brother.) The Wong brothers and their wives were also full of fun and hospitality and made us feel like family. Everyone was attentive and patient and truly kind, and it just made the experience that much more memorable. The whole thing was perfectly organized and executed. We had GORGEOUS weather for our entire excursion, and we thank you for arranging that as well! We have some breathtaking pictures and memories for a lifetime.
