Manzo is typical of eateries in Tokyo that prepare snack foods to go with sake or sochu, a Japanese spirit distilled from rice, grain or more commonly sweet potato. The edamame, or home-made tofu, comes with grated fresh ginger and chopped scallion. The roasted ginko and boiled pod soya beans are incredibly fresh and tasty. Grilled lightly salted fish as well as boiled duck liver also go great with sochu, which comes in a variety of flavors at Manzo.
